"The post diagnosis courses come too late"

Alongside Neurodevelopmental Pathway leads, and CMAHS practitioners, a number of our Parent Reps re-wrote the post diagnositic courses to ensure they supported our families. These courses are now deliver PRE-DIAGNOSIS and can be access by any parent carer that would like to know more about Autism and ADHD.

"There is no information available online"

Our Parent Reps were part of a working group of lived experience, young people and professionals who supported the developement of the new CAMHS website. The site was launched in the Autumn of 2025 and has a wealth of information on there to support families.

"The wait times are too long"

Along with other partner agencies, we are supporting the Neurodiversity Netwoks. These are monthly sessions that are help throughout the city where you can meet a range of professionals about your childs needs. No diagnosis is needed, just turn up.

"The information I received is out of date"

We worked with CAMHS staff to update their information packs that are sent out to Parent Carers alongside their diagnosis letter.

"The iletters are hard to understand"

As part of our commitment to ensure everything is accessible to everyone, we supported the rewording of some of CAMHS letters to ensure they can be better understood by our families.
