Salford's Co-production kite mark
The Co-production Kite Mark recognises and celebrates work that has been developed with Parent Carers who have lived experience. It shows that families’ voices, experiences and expertise have been valued and meaningfully included in the design, development or review of a document, service, policy, project or piece of work.
The purpose of the Kite Mark is to make co-production visible and to highlight the commitment of services, schools and organisations who work in partnership with Parent Carers to improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
For families, the Kite Mark provides confidence that their views and experiences have helped shape decisions that affect them. It helps ensure that information, support and services are more relevant, accessible and reflective of the real experiences of children, young people and their families.
For services, schools and organisations, the Kite Mark demonstrates a commitment to listening, learning and working collaboratively with the SEND community. Co-production helps create better solutions, strengthens relationships, builds trust and supports the development of services that are more effective and responsive to family needs.
The Kite Mark is a reminder that Parent Carers are experts by experience, and their knowledge plays a vital role in improving SEND support across Salford.
